Hi, I’m Alex the face behind Proper Exposure Photography. My journey into the world of photography has always been driven by a deep passion to capture meaningful moments and create art through the lens. I studied photography for 2-3 years under the guidance of Antonio Longo, a renowned Photography Tutor, and have spent the last 10+ years honing my craft through recreational photography. But the moment I moved to the United States from the UK to be with my wife, I knew it was time to make Proper Exposure a reality and share my love of photography with a wider audience.

Proper Exposure is all about bringing affordable, reliable, and high-quality photography to those who appreciate beautiful imagery, whether for their business or their family. My approach to photography is simple: create images that not only capture moments but also tell stories. While I don’t have a particular specialization, my training allowed me to explore all kinds of photography styles, with a special love for still-life photography, where I can focus on capturing the unique details of everyday objects.

I believe in a no-nonsense approach to photography, which is why the name Proper Exposure is a perfect fit. With a solid foundation in professionalism and a touch of English charisma, I provide my clients with work they can rely on, all while making sure every image reflects quality and attention to detail. Whether I’m working with local businesses to showcase their team or capturing timeless family moments, my goal is always the same: to deliver photography that you’ll be proud of for years to come.

What sets me apart is the simple belief that photography should be both accessible and impactful. My work is driven by the desire to make you smile and help preserve the moments that matter most—whether it’s a candid family portrait, a professional business shoot, or a beautifully arranged still life that brings everyday objects to life.

While I may not use the “best” equipment in the industry, I use what feels right for each shoot—whether that’s my trusty Sony A7-III, a carefully chosen lens, or my reliable lighting kits. My goal isn’t to use the most expensive gear but to ensure that my equipment suits the style and feel of the shoot, and helps me create the best possible results for each client. Quality doesn’t come from the price tag of the gear, it comes from the vision behind the camera.

Outside of photography, I’m passionate about graphic design, architecture, and the natural world. These interests not only fuel my creativity but also influence the way I approach every shot, blending artistic flair with professional precision.
